Winter
or summer, the region seduces
250 km of varied pistes suitable for all ski levels,
from high altitudes to larch forests. 45 km of cross-country
ski pistes. For the ramblers, snowy tracks link villages
along the river side and among the larch woods.
Thirteen picturesque villages with a wealth of simple
rustic mountain history. Each village has its steepled
church, often Lombardy-style, with fascinating frescoed
chapels (XIV-XV C), and a sun dial bearing with a common
sense, popular saying.

Après-ski, the ambiance of cosy restaurants under
vaulted stone ceilings, bar enlivened by tales of the
day's exploit. Entertainment and festivities are many
and varied : Jazz or Gospel festivals, crazy comedy
theatre and cabaret evenings, theatre, spectacles and
concerts for everyone and of all sorts.
The valley Guisane in the heart of the Alps - surrounded
by the famous Ecrins mountain range (with direct access
to the Ecrins National Park) and the little Dolomites
or Cerces - is a great mountain adventuring centre.
A privileged site famous for the purity of its air and
its superb Mediterranean climate (300 days of sunshine
per year)
